Come experience the Granada Theater, located in the heart of the
historic downtown section of the Dalles, once the last stop on the
Oregon Trail for early pioneers.
Its
Moorish architecture was exotic and reflected the appeal of the silent
films first shown here in 1930. The original organ used to accompany
those silent films is still in place. Numerous table booths are
reminiscent of the speak-easy times when night clubs were king and
alchohol was illegal.
Now
days modern murals adorn the walls and ceiling, using Mediterranean
motifs to complete the exotic fantasy of the building’s exterior.
The
acoustics are considered some of the best west of the Mississippi by
the musicians who play here. Pick your favorite entertainment from the
selections below and have a night to remember at the historic Granada
Theater.
